Meet the DB Ambassadors: Elle Welch

Meet the DB Ambassadors: Elle Welch

We are proud to introduce our 2019 Ambassadors! We have 20 amazing equestrians on board this year to share and promote DB. Meet Elle...

Hi! I'm Elle - a 23 year old eventer in Dayton, Ohio. My horse addiction started early on - I rode in the hunters from when I was 5 or 6 years old through high school. I made the trek from Cleveland to Dayton for college, caught the eventing bug, got a gig as a working student, that turned into a job after graduation, and haven't looked back! When I'm not in the barn, I work at a small animal vet clinic part time, and am slowly starting up a media marketing business.

Tell us about your horses..

I have a 9 year old OTTB mare named Saints N Winners (Bonnie) I adopted from Friends of Ferdinand Inc. I've had a blast bringing her along, and we ended 2018 successfully completing our first novice. Along with Bonnie, I am lucky enough to work for an OTTB adoption organization. I live and work at the training facility, manage the organization's marketing and get to ride the horses in the program. I love the process with green horses; every one is different in their own way and they always have something to teach you!

What are your 2019 riding goals?

My long term 2019 goal is to move Bonnie up to training. The goal that will get us there is getting her more rideable and adjustable!

What does being a Dapplebay Ambassador mean to you?

Dapplebay is a company promoting positivity and loving the animal over the sport. The day in and day out cleaning stalls, watching sunrises (or sets) from the back of a horse, frozen water buckets, the sound of hay munching, and those of us that wouldn't trade a single second because we love the horse(s). No matter what discipline you do, breed you have, or where you are, you can relate to this brand because of it. This will be my second year with Dapplebay, and watching the company grow and influence so many in a positive way is an exciting thing to be a part of!
